Combining SEM & SEO: Search Strategies, Opportunities, and Pitfalls

The dual focus of SEO and SEM is becoming inevitable for the serious online marketer. The importance of "page quality" has forced many Search Engine Marketing (SEM or PPC) advertisers to redesign their landing pages while integrating more Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics. This session will look at how savvy marketers using Pay-Per-Click (PPC) to help their SEO processes and visa-versa. Also examined will be strategies that come with a holistic approach to search and possible synergies and potential pitfalls.

Andreas is co-founder and strategist of Bloofusion (www.bloofusion.com), an online marketing agency with offices in California and Germany. He frequently participates in seminars and moderates panels on SEO and Paid Search. Andreas is also the co-author of “Search Engine Marketing for Decision Makers” and is heading up research in Mobile SEO and SEO via Disruptive Online Communities. He currently serves on the board of Leadership Santa Cruz and is member of Webguild Silicon Valley and the CMO Council as well as the Global Committee of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO).
